  • We are looking to add a Finish/Trim Carpenter to our growing company! Our ideal candidates will have experience as a finish/trim carpenter, but we are willing to train and are flexible on experience if the candidate is the right fit.

    Daily job duties will vary depending on the specific project, but generally include interpreting construction plans, preparing building materials, making repairs, performing finishing work such as installing baseboards, doors, cabinets, and flooring, will entail strictly adhering to all safety protocol, and assisting with cleanup and other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Be able to read, understand and build according to builder and/or customer’s specifications

    • Have a background in framing, as well as be able to do general labor such as demo, decks, door and window installations, drywall, paint, finish and trim, etc.

    • Be able to start and finish projects independently, as well as work with other carpentry personnel in a safe, organized and enjoyable manner

    • Report promptly to work

    • Apply good customer service and be able to communicate well with a customer

    • Have and maintain a clean and safe work site

    • Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule

    • Be able to work 40 hours per week, with willingness to work extra hours when needed to complete a job before bad weather conditions or taking care of demanding situations

    Starting pay based on experience. Must be hard working and have ability to work independently and with others. Must be self-starter but also follow specific directives. Must be trustworthy. Must pass drug test and background check.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Candidate(s) must be able to drive company vehicles.

    • Candidate(s) must have a driving record clear of any violations involving drugs, alcohol, controlled substances, etc. within the past 48 months.

    • Candidate(s) cannot have a suspended or revoked license.

    • The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.

    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    ABOUT PARAMOUNT BUILDERS

    YOUR SEAT RESPONSIBILITIES

    Scope Analyzer

    • Review architectural and engineering plans to prepare detailed cost estimates

    • Break down materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs

    • Identify any discrepancies in project documents or scopes

    Bid Strategist

    • Prepare and submit competitive bids, proposals, and budgets

    • Develop project timelines and milestone cost projections

    • Work closely with subcontractors to secure accurate pricing

    Collaboration Connector

    • Partner with project managers, architects, and clients to align expectations

    • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary

    • Support value engineering efforts and recommend cost-saving alternatives

    Numbers Ninja

    • Maintain accurate cost databases and update pricing trends

    • Analyze past project costs for forecasting and benchmarking

    • Track changes and adjust estimates accordingly during project lifecycle

    SOFTWARE/TECHNOLOGY/PLATFORMS

    • Microsoft Excel (advanced)

    • PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar takeoff/estimation tools

    • Premier Construction Software (accounting/project platform)

    • Microsoft Office

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in residential and commercial construction.

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and project management tools.

    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost structures.

    • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess data, evaluate risks, and develop accurate cost projections.

    • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and team members.

    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in cost estimation and budget preparation.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent is a plus.

    • Experience with digital takeoff tools and construction management software.

    • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
